Beleg finds Flinding in Taur-nu-Fuin
|
That tapestry was ended in the same period than Roverandom, so it can count also like the last done for the hanging wall.
Anyway, for those knowing The Silmarillion, Beleg didn't find Flinding but Gwindor. The title comes to the fact at that time of his working on the book, Tolkien had another name for Gwindor and called his drawing with this one.
Taur-nu-Fuin was a luxuriant forest, until Sauron was able to take it to humans (humans who were friends of the Elves and fighted Morgoth at their side). Then he transformed the forest in a nightmare area, full of 'ghosts' and bad spirits.
Flinding/Gwindor was able to escape from Morgoth's prison and faint of weakness in that forest. Beleg was looking to save Turin (a human and his friend) taken prisonner by Orcs at the command of Morgoth. He helps Flinding/Gwindor who will help him in return to save Turin... and the curse following the human will fall on them both soon or later unfortunately.
