A professor of psychology, at Roanoke College in Salem, Va., who studied the symbolism origin and history of the Valentine's Day heart stated it is inspired by the shape of female buttocks as they appear from behind.
He further stated, "The Greek goddess Aphrodite buttocks were especially beautiful, and so appreciated by the Greeks that they built a special temple, Aphrodite Kallipygos, which literally meant 'Goddess with the Beautiful Buttocks.
