Testing reflections with IDL
|
IDL allows using objects with ambient set to act as a light source. In fact the primary lighting in the scene is from the background sphere with an HDR image connected to ambient. It gives natural soft lighting, but it doesn't render any secular or reflections by itself. Getting those still requires traditional lights.
Here I've set the reflection value on the eyes to 1, added a few low intensity lights to pick up the reflection, and a specular light for the highlights.
