G4 in Superfly
Here's G4 rendered in the new Superfly engine in PP-11. I finally got all my external runtimes linked to the new Poser, and thought I'd give G4 a go. I have to say, I had a few surprises..... First, the skin I use for G4 in the TNA series is modified a fair amount. I've hand painted her skin in Photoshop to give it a warm tan texture, and of course added her 2 small tattoos. Her skin also uses the EZSkin2 SSS shaders by Snarygribly. The first time I rendered her in PP-11, she rendered pure white - like a sheet of paper. No details at all. Her hair rendered fine. I ended up just using the modified skin mat with no SSS shader, and she rendered normally, but her skin just looked flat and plastic, as if I'd rendered her in P-8. I opened the material room, and manually added the SSS node to all her skin sections, and this was the final result.

I have to say at the moment, I'm not hugely overwhelmed by the new Poser. That may change as I explore it more thoroughly - it is a whole new can of worms. It doesn't seem as stable as either PP-2014 or 2012. I tried using the floor prop from DMRs DreamArt set, but every time I added it, PP-11 crashed immediately. I ended up using a floor from one of the other DM sets, and it worked fine. The wall prop is from DreamArt, and it worked fine.

The original image was rendered at 2250 X 3300 - I downsized it just a tad to fit the 3000 pixel limit. It took several hours to render.... I started the render, and after an hour, I just left the render to cook, and went to bed. The only postwork on this is my signature - everything else is just as it came out of the render oven.

I think it's safe to say, as complex as some of my scenes are in the T.N.A. story, I'll still be using PP-2014 for about 95% of the time. :-D

Thanks for dropping by, and for all your comments and support!

Kudo's to you to even know how to do custom skin and tats. Of course this is coming from someone who has yet to read a manual or tutorial, so it is my own damn fault. Have just gotten Poser Pro 11. Your comments make me shutter. My back up the most advanced is Poser 9. She still looks good, but the render time for a simple scene is insane.

Hummm G4 is calm? Strange really; sure she hasn't a weapon in the back? Laughing Great render, even if it takes hours - you know with iray it's hours also, and the computer becomes hot. And teh result is at random when i look pictures.

It sounds like they may have rushed to release P11, but I'm sure it will become more stable. Still a great render and of course your character looks awesome!!!
