Alys was angry. Angry at Ryanne for not running. Angry at Ceridwyn for not bringing down the dragon, although she knew that was absurd. And angry at herself for not grabbing Ryanne as she started to run.
The brave guardsmen who had come to arrest her (she was sure) crept out from their hiding places, asking "Is it gone?"
She would NOT kill them.
