The Abominable Snowmen is slated for release early December on this side of the pond.

And a new teaser they are going to release a season from the First Doctor in a boxed set like the others. This should be very nice, currently no date has been set for release so this is on a "wait and see" list. Of all the episodes included only one had missing bits but they say it will be filled in with stills and such. Well, wasn't holding my breath on an animated version of the two missing episodes but it would have been nice.

Considering that they have done great work in the past with them, so only slightly disappointed. Will have to see how it compares to the reconstruction I already own.

A full five days early on the release date for the Abominable Snowmen and at a better price since B&N had it at 30% off plus the extra 10% I have as a card carrying flag, waving member of the store, means a very nice price when it was all done and over with, and obviously watched immediately once I got home. The good news is that the animation team on the show did a magnificent job on the project. Definitely a 10 of 10 on all categories pertaining to rebuilding a missing episode.

Have only watched it the once in the original black and white, but will see what the color version looks like today. While writing the abominable report cards for the students, :sigh: yep that time of the year again.

Well, in addition to a season featuring William Hartnell coming soon, they have just now announced season three for Jon Pertwee.

A true recap of the season for him.

The rubbish that was pulled on "season one" for Colin Baker is still :bs:

Why, oh because the missing episode was technically in season 21 not season 22

Then why in the hell do you called it the first season of Colin Baker if it does not have all the episodes featuring him?

This is the only season that this discrepancy has appeared in, so all I have to say to the ass-hats on FB is :soapy:
For those of us here in the States, the first season of Colin Baker includes "The Twin Dilemma" we do not see seasons, we see the show broken down per each Doctor as they take the reins.

It has only been since Eccleston that the episodes have been referred to be a season number, none of the classic Doctor stories were referred to in such a format.

So you want to split hairs and call it season 22 then market it as such and stop with the hair splitting

It is quite unseemly since it was not mentioned during the pre-sale as to why that episode was not included ... yet apparently I am the ignorant one for not reading between the lines ... sorry spell it out accurately some of us in the States do not do "subtle" and I am one of them ... deal with it.

Well, the BluRay version of the second season of William Hartnell has been added to the library.

Two things

Negative:
No reconstruction of "The Crusades" just the two existing episode with the others as telesnaps only. All right I do understand what is required when doing an animation of an episode. However they animated the missing two episode of "The Reign of Terror" (total 8 episodes). They also have did an animated construction of the missing three (of four) episodes of "Galaxy Four". Additionally, they have done a complete animated reconstruction of Patrick Troughton's "Power of the Daleks" eight (8) episodes. Plus many others that have surviving episodes and several more that had nothing to work with but telesnaps.
So why the cheat on "The Crusade"?

"The Chase"
Still do not get to see the clip where Vicki insert a light neutron file in the Time and Space Visualizer and see the sequence of it playing a clip from the Beatles. Nor do we get her classic comment "I didn't know they played classical music" or the Doctors comment when it was ended "There you go, you have squashed my favorite beetle (Beatle) "

Positive:
There is a missing 12 seconds from "The Time Meddler" I have heard of this previously but do not recall seeing it or if I did I did not pick up on what was being shown. That changed today as it is part of the full playback and is not an option. The missing bit had to do with the actual death of the two Viking spies. Previously one only assumed that they were killed at some point ... not any more no assumption required. It is brief and not overly played up so unless you are looking for it you will miss the final moment. So kudos for not being overly blatant about it and thanks for restoring the episode fully.
