Any bruising should be reported to your Doctor if you didn't know how it got there.

DazStudio4.6
« on: July 13, 2016, 07:39:47 PM »
Yeah so I am a bit behind the 8 ball here :java:  but I was wondering if there is any way to get hold of a copy of DS 4.6. The only one on the Daz site is the newest and I am not too keen on that one.
Wouldn't even bother but for some of the content I would like to start making I need to update the copy of DS I have (only have 2 and 3 lol).
Thanks

You'll have to contact sales support to send you a temp link to roll back IF they have one. They're usually pretty good about that.  :dispute:

Hi Dreamer.
If you can't get a link to download DS 4.6, you can use DS 4.9 though.
If you're not interested by the new features of this latest version, you're not obliged to use them, you just have to ignore them.
Same thing with Iray. If you don't want to render with Iray, you still have the 3Delight engine to do your renders.
For the rest, nothing special. You can keep on using your poser stuff and the interface of DS 4.9 is not that different from the interface of DS 4.6.

I'd rather not have DS4.9 if I can get round it, that's just me though. If I can't get DS4.6 I'll just have to deal with it but no harm in trying

Sorry, i haven't any longer my version 4.6. I  :dustbin: it when the 4.8 worked well.

I can understand to avoid the 4.9 version, because it's a beta thing mainly; i have issues myself with, like suddenly the program which makes renders of characters in white skin!  :OMFG:
But several people haven't issue with this one.

I don't use their connection to the site to use stuff on cloud; avoid this way. Take only by manual download, it's better.
And iray asks many power to the pc; anyway, before your first render, check the details for this; my Daz had settings with "iray" immediatly.

The actual version of DS 4.9 is the realease 4.9.2.70. I don't know if it's still a beta.
Anyway, each new version of DS4 was more or less a beta version.
Concerning the characters rendered with a white skin, it's not a specific problem of DS 4.9.. I recall having had the same issue since the first versions of DS4.
It seems to be a bug of 3Delight that has been never fixed.

The problem is almost all version of DS4.9 that i had have issues with me. And i changed of computer the last year.
DS4.8 was the only version with no issues for me.

With my first version of DS4 (i don't remember the number) all stuffs coming of DS3 were squares when i reopened scenes. Not all people had this.
After, it was a problem of program suddenly crashed during a render; more a DS4.6 problem.
And now, time to time a scene can crash again; but i have this horrible issue with skins, with no reason.

So it seems their issues are at random and never really corrected, if you had by the past this problem with skins. But we are "beta testers" it's to correct issues, isn't it?
And if i remember it's on the french forum on Renderosity that somebody had the same problem than me with squares, but with a more recent version. A story of fools.

To end, they say on site that you have 2 versions of DS4.9:
version Pro but in fact it's the register site page
