Glad you figured it out, J.  Humans are endless inventive -- no matter how much I try to build idiot-proof procedures, they will always find a way to make them not work in spectacular new ways.

Trust me, my human helpers are quite the challenge in regards to keeping them from crossing the line in doing a proper "infrastructure" install.

Sometimes it really is troublesome that we all have different levels of install skills ... in other words ... can you see it from your house and does it look clean and presentable.

Granted, they can do mobile installation that look like it came from the factory as part of the package.

I cannot

But, give me an infrastructure install, then I can say yes, "I can see it from my house and I will sign my name on the install" ... and then there is the CDO level I display when it comes to documentation of everything I touch .... currently no one else is close, "this is what I have been told" not my ego speaking out loud, for a change.

Well, a lot has happened since the last I scribbled but I will start with the most important detail

Is there a year end bonus and raise

Well turns out that there will be both ... not certain what form the raise will take, but the bonus has been defined ... there is some sort of fuzzy math involved with the final amount ... however that amount is based on a percentage posted by the powers that be ... the percentage I learned that I will receive is a half a percent above the maximum ... okay works for me since I have stepped up to the plate and done much more than last year.

So that means a decent bonus .... I think ... but will there be a decent raise :ummm: and what exactly is the best path for me to pursue for growth within the hierarchy ...

Service and maintenance

DAS install

Project supervisor

I already do path one and three to a certain degree to begin with.

Path two requires a certain amount of traveling which interfere's with teaching and unless they deign to make up the lost wages ....

:sure:

Defining path three I have already been thrown under the bus ... in other words .. I found out in detail that I am already the Point of Contact for no less then six projects ... sounds like a project supervisor to me

Never knew that is where I was to focus my career path .. yes sarcasm .. as I really do not know where I should focus my skills.

Never held a job that provided that much variety of growth paths.

Not sure how I should respond ...

Path two doing DAS installs would be as a project supervisor ... a working one.

So not only would one have to supervise the project but would also be installing them and that would be anywhere in the state.

So traveling, and since I teach eight months out of the year plus being a reluctant traveler to start with, and have a pet, there are difficulties with that concept to say the least.

Not entirely happy with the ramifications that I see in that path.

Path one seems to be the one I am currently doing the most, as I do infrastructure installs, and I now can do repairs on subscriber radios. Plus I am or have already done maintenance on the subscriber radios and some system work, maintenance wise that is, tuning, code plug and firmware updates and so forth.

My guess implies that I would still be doing the documentation, staging and installation of the projects. Which to me seems a bit like staying where I am at with no real progress, pay raise yes, but is there any real growth or new learning of skills?

Unknown.
