Firefox very slow
« on: October 12, 2014, 11:07:21 AM »
I must post this subject with an other pc.
As you know, i have problems with my pc. Today, he restarts to block when i go on the net. I test him with adwcleaner, malwarebytes (new  :ty_luv: at DA) and roguekiller; no virus or other problem.
Pc 'sleep' one hour, and i restart him. But i try with the last version of Firefox now.

But since FF 17/18, i couldn't take the new version. Because browser is very very very slow. Like now (several minutes for one page).
I don't no why; each new version seems no compatible with my pc now. Have you an idea???

I see in task scheduler that "utilisation de processeur" (processor using?) is almost 100%.
With FF16, is the same use (almost 100% per moments), but pages loaded most quickly.

I no check the « use graphic acceleration material if available » (utiliser l’accélération graphique matérielle si disponible).
But i try (without change) with checked case.

I see Firefox helper pages, and try their possibilities, but no change.

I have window Vista.

It's a story of crazyyyyyyyy  :ahhhh:

Well Vista is still being supported so first I would visit Microsoft to see if there are updates for Vista....

Next, check your speed with IE (Internet Explorer Brower).

I've been having troubles with speed also on both FireFox and Chrome.  Chrome just had an update a couple of days ago and McAfee (Virus Scanner) blocked the update.

Vista should also have a restore point option so if all else fails...go to a restore point that was set before you started slowing down and having other problems.

I'm doing a full scan of my computer now and so far it found two potential viruses....One from Chrome and one was related to Adobe Flash.

You could try SpeedyFox  http://www.crystalidea.com/speedyfox
It makes a small difference to the speed on my PC

 :ty_luv: for your anwers.
Fir IE, it's not possible. Indeed, after i bought my pc, i wait few months before going to the net. And when i try with IE, i have always this sentence for can use:
"l'idiot des présidentielles" [yes, in french]
It's like a clue for use IE. :(
I thought when i had use all cleaners softwares that they resolve this problem, but no :(

For SpeedyFox, i conserve link, and i try this the next time when i reback to the new FF.
For the moment, pc angry me, and i decided to return to an ancient version. But it's the first time that she operates, so i cross fingers for succeed by steps (if new version and SppedyFox will not operate).

Waterfox .... never heard of it might have to give it a whirl though since we do run 64 bit systems just for the hell of it
