Any bruising should be reported to your Doctor if you didn't know how it got there.

Edges and bridge in W3D
« on: May 26, 2017, 04:28:22 PM »
I have choosen a cylinder and a sphere for the quick explanation.
The bottom of cylinder was removed by Right click => Hole.
The half top of the sphere was removed by the same way.
Now you have edge facing edges. [screen capture 1]

To make short, it's impossible to do a bridge from an edge to another. No matter the 2 parts of your future object are "united" in only one geometry. [screen capture 2]

By this way, if for a reason or another you move a part on the 2, you will have a surprise, like on the third screen capture.

How to do?
In fact, like we don't see the inside of the object, it's possible to "cheat" by the creation of faces.
For this, move in Y either the half of the sphere, or what is staying from the cylinder. Goal here is to prepare the future bridge, and see what you do on each part.
I have choosen the half of sphere.

Select only edges of half-sphere like on the first screen capture below. And make Right click => Extrude => Y
Do the same for the bottom of cylinder. [all is done in the second screen capture below]
If necessary, bring back the 2 parts more closer from each other for the next step.

It's now time to do the bridge!
If you don't know yet the bridge, it's a maneuver to glue together 2 faces one in front of the other. Look a part of the result in the third screen capture below.

And voilà in the last picture!
I have selected only the "old" half-sphere to show it better.
