Disable Cortana

Nothing about Windoze 10 makes me ever want to install it. Now it seems everywhere you go you're being tailed by a government agent and a marketer. Both are taking notes on your behavior.

I'm not sure here. I am on the Creator's Update and not everyone has received it yet via auto update. I pushed it through a month or two ago. That being said.
Cortana is completely configurable in my Win10.

Press the Start button or whatever they call the little windoze button in the corner.

Click Cortana.

Click Settings.

Tell Cortana what it can or cannot do. There are a lot of settings. Pay attention to what you change but remember if you screw up you can change back.

Cortana does not index this machine. It does not listen to me. It does not make suggestions. It does not remember what I do. I ignores me completely unless I specifically do a search through the Cortana search box itself. I do not talk to myself or my computer so it isn't required to figure out my Bayman accent.

No hacks or registry edits needed.

Major updates to Win10 may change or reset preferences so it helps to check your privacy policies every now and then. The first big update explained the privacy policies and that was it. You were never reminded again. Your Win 10 machine may not be as private as it was when you first set it up due to this.

I also got the updates to their new format....and yes....Cortana is now configurable.   I still don't use it.  I'm from the East Coast and have a Midwest/East Coast accent and it confuses Cortana.  I can type faster than trying to make Cortana understand what I'm trying to say LOL.  Same with Alexa.  I'm waiting for that one to come back and say

"WHAT THE HELL DID YOU JUST SAY?"

Got two updates today on the secondary computer and the laptop...but not for the main computer as of yet....  Which is odd...but I'm sure it will come.  Doesn't take long.  About an hour or so LOLOLOL
