Have heard of Card don't think I have read any though, been more of a D&D, Forgotten realms reader recently.

Drizzt Do'Urden by R.A. Salvatore is a great character and he has really developed him into one complex person then again after 32 volumes he should be a fairly well developed character :tearlaugh:

Oh,  I don't think I've read anything from Norman since the late 90's.  No reason for that, other than my reading took a different direction.  My interest had shifted heavily into computers and I'd gotten cable.  So, I was very active in Usenet and a couple forums, plus work was consuming me.  I was reading manuals and chasing hardware back then.  For more than two full decades I did that.   Today, I am interested in the Flights of Fancy again.  I might pick up on Gor.  But I might rather pick up on the complete Terry Brooks "Shannara" realm.  I miss Allanon, Shea, Wil, Erin and Jair Ohmsford.  I miss the great Druid citadel, full of powers and secrets but ALL the knowledge of all four lands that could be found.   Kimber Boh , Wren! And so many other well developed and described characters that just stir the imagination, often whip it to a frenzy!  Yes, I kinda miss that.  But even more my friend, I miss *PEOPLE*.  Like us, the real world of living people.  Not as easy to get back into THAT realm as I figured it should be!  LOL!

Something I feel is a cool thing, is that we now have these cool tools to use with our imaginations.  The tools being the software and hardware we now have at our disposal.   I suppose the ultimate use would be to use a game engine and create a virtual world loaded up with the stuff we imagine.   With what we HAVE J, you might call it a low-level holo deck, eh?  I chose to do the static realm.  Not animating.  Way too time consuming, as my limited intellectual capacity has demonstrated time and again.  It becomes uninteresting to get bogged down in LEARNING stuff that I have questions in the use of but no clear answers.  I am hard of hearing.  Makes video tuts really tough for me.  Speaking to tinnitus, I know that one inside and out man.

Well, got a couple chores to do.  back later!

McG.   :java:

Second the motion on Shannara ... we have about 20 volumes in that lovely setting ... have only read about the first twelve

So many books to read so little time

CLICK!  Drizzt?  That is the character Dark Elf designed his online persona after.  Ha!    I remember when there were only a couple hundred puplished hard Sci-Fi authors, and I'd read something by all of them I think.  Today, there are more published authors than you even have numbers of bound books!   You speak to reads I've never heard of too.  Card has been around since the 60's, and published Enders Game as a short story in Analog or Science Fiction magazines in like 1970 or 71.   It was such a good story though, he was encouraged by editors and a publisher to release a full novel of it.  He did.  And while written to college level kids, lots of adults ate it up too.  As good a movie as it is, it is a better read.

What is going on ???

Former Watchtower

Gatehouse

Green House

All of them are whacked in one spot or more

Ok it's not my topic but:
- have you your runtime in a disk of Stormbringer, or on external?
- have you one day move the textures in another part of runtime(s) and forgot to put in the code of these things?
- no track of textures with the Search?

All runtimes are on Stormbringer no external drives

Installed normally never touched or moved from original installed location.

Looked at texture in material room and there seems to be gaps in the original texture maps
