We still buy ImagineFX religiously used to also buy 3D World and one other until I got hit by the economy now it is just ImagineFX and with the disc full of goodies and tips, trick, and tutorials it is one of the most useful ones of the lot.

What type of goodies do they have?  Just out of curiosity.   I hear pros and cons on those CD's.  Some have told me they are just sample items that lure you in to buy the real product etc.  Or products that are not supported anymore.

Just curious....cause you know how much I like getting new toys to not use  :java:

Mostly all of the workshop files for you to be able to follow along and do the workshops or tutorials.
Trial programs yes, as a matter of fact the May issue has Painter 12 trial in it.
Gimp, ArtRage to name a couple others.
PS brushes galore 36 comic ones in May, 20 Art Nouveau in Jan.
Photo references from pistols and swords to seascape, to medieval landscapes.
Then there is stuff from DAZ such as the creature creator for M4 and other 3D models which one can import into Poser or your favorite 3D program.

So worth the $15.99 plus tax price tag in my opinion

From time to time I order one of these magazines, but only if they have Poser content on the discs. The problem I have, most magazines don't tell what's on their discs and I don't need brushes or stock images.

Jherrith would you be so nice and tell me, if Imagine FX has Poser content on the disc? With the issue number and what content it is? This would be so wonderful, if you could do it everytime they have something.  :flowers:

Okay, this may be way off topic here but is the serial number for this available anywhere or do I have to scout the crack sites?

To use the program from the link in the primary post you also need to do the following (which is also linked too in the first post:

To get rid of splash screen reminder:

It’s possible to customize the settings to limit the frequency of the reminders to daily, weekly, or monthly, or use the following hack to remove the nag screen altogether.

Procedure to Remove Free Corel Paint Shop Pro X Upgrade Nag Screen

   1. After installing Corel Paint Shop Pro X, run Notepad.
   2. Open the following file in Notepad:

      C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro X\PCUUI\Container.htm

      Note: You may need to take ownership and full control of the files in Windows Vista and Windows 7.
   3. Remove and erase all the text inside the file, and replace it with the following code:

      <script type="text/javascript">
      location ="pcucmd://Cancel?confirm=no";
      </script>

The Corel applications will also install licensing service called ProtexisLicensing, provided by PSIservice, which will phone home to Corel. PSIservice cannot be removed or else PSPX (Paint Shop Pro X) will stop working, and will persist even after PSPX is uninstalled.

-----------------------------------------------

Use this hack to remove and disable PSIservice while keeping Corel programs working properly.

In order to keep applications such as Corel Photo Shop Pro continue running without error, the complete removal instructions cannot be followed. Use the following workaround instead:

   1. Open Services (services.msc) in Control Panel’s Administrators Tools.
   2. Locate ProtexisLicensing or Protexis Licensing service. If you are seeing Protexis Licensing V2 service, use the next guide. Stop the service and then set the Startup Type to Disabled.
   3. Bowse to %SystemDrive%\Windows\System32 folder.
   4. Copy original PSIKey.dll to program folder of application that relies on Protexis, e.g. %SystemDrive%\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI\.
   5. Rename PsiClient.dll to PsiClient.bak, or simply delete it.
   6. Rename PSIKey.dll to PsiClient.dll
   7. Rename PSIService.exe to PSIService.bak, or simply delete it.

If the Protexis DRM softare installed on your system is of version 2, follow these steps instead:

   1. Open Services (services.msc) in Control Panel’s Administrators Tools.
   2. Locate Protexis Licensing V2 service. Stop the service and then set the Startup Type to Disabled.
   3. Bowse to %SystemDrive%\Program Files\Common Files\Protexis\License Service folder.
   4. Copy original PSIKey_2.dll to program folder of application that relies on Protexis, e.g. %SystemDrive%\Program Files\Corel\Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2\.
   5. Rename PsiClient.dll to PsiClient.bak, or simply delete it.
   6. Rename PSIKey_2.dll to PsiClient.dll
   7. Rename PSIService_2.exe to PSIService_2.bak, or simply delete it.

Now, Protexis Licensing Service is tamed and disabled properly so that PSIService no longer run in background, without affecting functionality of installed application.

If you don't mind older versions, you can still ver PSP 7 & 8 and I think 9 and not have to have a serial, I know that's how I ended up with 7 for the longest time before I bought 11.

Think most of these companies need to rethink the naming of their products to something with a little more imagination, they are creative programs after all...lol
