I start my day with an help for a friend with her pc.

I leave 2 captures of her screen.
At start, the pc (work with Vista, and with Norton antivirus) does a white screen with a "band" in the middle. Difficult to see on the first capture, but it's there.
After, it's only a white screen, and sometimes when she restarts her pc, it has writting (passes quickly) like "physical dump", or "hardware".

She doesn't place new programms on her pc, and no problem after her last update for Norton.

I try to find on the web, but people are not ok for the problem: some say screen, others hardware, others bios... Even my chief (very good in world of pc) isn't sure. He thinks the pc is died, but not the hardware.

Have you a little idea on this?

My brother had the same problem on his laptop and when he took it in for them to look at they told him it could be one of the three:

1. Loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen.
2. Defective LCD screen.
3. Defective motherboard (I assume the graphics card is integrated into the motherboard).

He got a new laptop because the repair would cost almost as much as the laptop.

Thank you for this triple answer.
She won't change of pc, but with this, i think indeed it's necessary. Her problem is not a big like for her pc, but she has in PSP, and she never succeed to place filters alone.
Now

time to search a good tutorial for this, and prepare her at this changement. Perhaps i find tuto here for PSP.

You're more than welcome. Glad you mentioned she had Norton because Trojans can also cause this. Norton usually catches those pretty good...sometimes LOLOL.

I mention Norton, because i remember that J had problems with his antivirus.

Norton you pay for so that is great protection. He was using the FREE AVG which is "You get what you pay for" protection.

Data recovery should be easy because I don't think this is hard drive related. Cost depends on what they have to do to grab the info. But in most cases the hard drive can be removed and mirrored.

A fancy name for making an exact copy of what is on the hard drive minus any threats.
