Poser GoZ Issue
« on: July 04, 2016, 02:42:19 PM »
Seems there are many users who have a problem with GoZ in Poser 2014 and up. When they try to export an object to Zbrush, they find that the "Export Figure Mesh To GoZ" is grayed out.

I have read the replies on other forums that seem to only help a handful of users while others remain in the dark as to how to fix it.

I have devised the easiest fix there is, and in tests has worked 100% every time!

Step 01: Download the "Poser.zip" I have provided and extract it to your desktop or where ever you like to work from.

Step 02: Inside the "Poser" folder, you will create a new text and name it "GoZ_Config.txt". Type in the line: PATH = "C:/Program Files/Smith Micro/"UrPoserVersion"/Poser.exe"

Note: I used Poser 11 in the PATH for this tut!

Step 03: Save the "GoZ_Config.txt" with the three files I have already provided and drag and drop the "Poser" folder into your:

"C:\Users\Public\Pixologic\GoApps\" folder.

All done! Now restart Poser and you'll be good to go!

Hope this helps those suffering with this issue. It kinda ticks me off that users have been dealing with this problem for over a year now and all they get for the most part is the run-around! Whatever happened to sharing knowledge?

Well, something to look forward to when the next iteration of Poser comes about and we have a couple three coins to rub together.

NOTE:

GoZ for Poser is VERY simple coding, you can create all of the files shown in the examples above yourself.

This fix is exclusively found here! I am NOT posting it elsewhere to avoid stepping on the toes of those who "think" they know how it works.

I'll also use this thread when addressing other issues related to Poser to ZBrush. If anyone has an issue not addressed then post it here and I'll answer as time permits.
