Any bruising should be reported to your Doctor if you didn't know how it got there.

Smooth polygon
« on: January 03, 2017, 01:57:05 PM »
Sometimes we are annoyed by "Smooth polygons" in Poser. It could be useful for some decorations or food... but not for architecture.
Ray has warned me concerning a pack I have from few time. All props (architecture, seat...) have "Smooth polygons" checked :thud:

Looking, we can change things. All we have to do is:
- find smoothPolys 1 in the code (except in multiprops, it's in last lines of codes)
- change by smoothPolys 0

The next time, it will load in Poser with the "Smooth polygons" unchecked. Just take care with multiprops; it's better to use Cr2Editor or a little program like this one.

I tried removing the line in code, but the result is to have always the box checked :thud:

:ty04: Ray for having pointed this option.

Interesting update I have always just gone into the render settings and unchecked the smooth polygon box there to stop geometry from getting bloated an looking wrong

.. this sounds like a permanent fix which would be grand

Indeed it's permanent, at least for my various tests from yesterday. It was my lazy part which pushed me on this way :psycho:
Anyway we have work ahead! Because i looked some other packs made on Daz site: they hav smooth polygons checked!
Same for me on objects of Laticis i converted in pp2. It's weird because i converted them in DS3 :thud:

Not something I do a lot of if at all is mess with coding for Poser products. Never tried to learn it, but this is useful to know, I have got to the point that when I set preferences in poser I go through the drop down under Edit and set those first , then go to the render drop down and set it up as I want including the uncheck smooth polygons and then go back to the preferences under edit and then set preferred scene and select launch to preferred scene and all done.

Never had to mess with it since.
