The Sitting Room Awaits You

This room is located in the ENTRANCE area of our Forums and the setting is made for sharing Gossip, tidbits of information, problems, solutions, but most of all, relaxation.

Roaming the Attic Halls can be tiresome at times because we are always dodging the Dust Bunnies or running away from Kianna (At least ONE of our admins is).

In here you can kick up your feet, sip some coffee or your favorite beverage that you picked up at the Coffee Shoppe, or take a nap in restful glee....even try out the various vibrating furniture!

Just make sure you use coasters and please don't leave any rings on the tables.

Hi there Sandra.....Glad you're back and glad your feeling better.  Lots of folks feeling poorly due to the flue season and weather change.....

I'll be joining you on working on the computer files.  Getting ready to set up my other computer and I know how much fun that is....always.....

Just got done setting up the phone...then had a problem with the camera....took it back to Radio Shack...and they had to reinstall the software...which wiped out all of my settings   :thud:

Oh well...Now I'm smarter then the phone..... :java:

Have you been messing with your settings?  If not...then it's a glitch I would assume.  I'll take a peek at your settings.  Also...make sure you have the "Notify me of replies" box checked that is below each thread....

Took a peek at your profile and there seems to be nothing amiss there as this and several other topics are listed for thee to be notified of replies.

Thanks for checking guys. I get the bulk of my email from this site and a friend down under which amounts to usually ten a day or more. Suddenly yesterday it was no email. I will check my gmail as well to make sure no one has hacked my prefs although it would not surprise me one bit if it was a win 8 problem.

I hear that although I still am on XP Pro 64 every so often I get weird things going on.

Bought some trinkets for the girls in my runtime, apparently installed them last night but yet this morning when I went looking for the zips they were nowhere to be found.

Downloaded a second time and unless I click out of the download folder and back into it I still could not see the downloads, went to install them and yep sure enough I had installed them last night but as mentioned could not find the files anywhere.

I have trouble finding anything new in Daz Studio. As usual in trying to improve it they just made it worse and I suspect they have some code in there that will delete any earlier versions from your computer without asking. I had vers 3 installed and it is gone now.

As to my most used program Bryce, well that is nothing short of bizarre. I installed vers7. such and such. After a couple of weeks of loading my favourite mats and models I tried to use the mesh editor and it didn't work. I uninstalled and reinstalled Bryce. Only thing is the mat libraries and the model libraries didn't uninstall. Now when I initialize the program  I get the new libraries and if I initialize it a second time I get the old libraries. And the hell of it is the mesh editor still doesn't work.

As for win 8 my best advice is run like hell unless you are going to use it for a tablet. They tried to blend a desktop OS with a tablet OS and the result is a disaster. The exec in charge suddenly resigned. They have released a patch but only for tablets. As soon as I have a few extra bucks I will remove this HD and install a new one with Win 7 or XP 64.

Oh joy oh joy, on Win 8, I shall make certain I go no where near there ...

As for DAZ  never going there I tried once when it first came out and nothing but trouble, so sticking with Poser only

Glad to see everything is working good.   I checked last night also and all seemed fine but didn't get back in here to tell you LOL.   I did a "J"....Fell asleep on the keyboard..... :java:

As for Win 7 & 8.....Unless your puter is going to last forever "J".....Your going to end up with Win 7 or 8 sooner or later.  XP is officially done as of Jan 1st 2014 and no further updates will be avail.

That's the latest from MS.  But then again...they said that last year also and continued to support XP since Dell was selling a XP version.  But looking in the Dell site...I no longer see the XP version.  So this may be the year.

What that means is you'll get security updates occasionally...but no updates for anything else.  Oh well, such is life...

That's OK on no updates for xp. In the future I will have a dedicated graphics machine that is not online! All files loaded into the machine will be checked on an internet capable machine with virus software first. I will then put them on disk to transfer.

On the plus side I got my 32 inch monitor back from the shop today all fixed with a new power supply. Now I can see what cobrahair has been writing!  Big improvement over my 14 inch standby monitor!

Methinks that is what shall eventually happen on this side as well, one for rendering only no internet, and the other for everything else

Poser and Daz

Click images to go to SmithMicro and Daz to read all about the programs.

Poser Pro got even better this year.

They have made it easier on content creators by integrating Poser Pro Game Dev into Poser Pro 11.

Now the content creators can create for runtimes and games with only one program!
