Monthly Theme Selection Question
« on: May 01, 2015, 03:14:51 PM »

Each month we ask for Theme Ideas from our Members and we end up with many great ones.  Then we have a poll to pick your favorites and from that poll we have another poll with those that accumulated the most votes.

Then we pick ONE winner (Most times) and the other great theme ideas are forgotten.

Do you think we should gather up those forgotten theme ideas that made it to the top but didn't make it as a Monthly Theme choice and use them once again instead of asking for new ideas each month.

Before we go any further with this idea we need to know from you if this is something worth looking into.

Cast your YES vote if it is something worth looking into or a NO vote if you are happy how the Themes are selected presently.

If you have some other thoughts on this subject, don't hesitate to list them below.

As always, this is your site, your contests, and your opinions do count.

Thank you......

I think the Current system gives us a more organic theme as the themes are not reused, True sometimes the votes go to  :thud: difficult / bizarre  territory :lost: but if we don't step up to the challenge is it the themes fault? o.O   :sassy:  :i-voted:

Ok, i begin lol
I think it's no a problem to propose different topics of a month on other month. Even, it's better for new members, otherwise it's little difficult to them if they want propose a theme - or several.
It's sure all members don't give themes, but one day perhaps they can do the plunge. At start, i had difficult to find possibly ideas for the next month. Now, my brain is connected
And we can think after propositions to other themes. Have this possibility permit us to give these the next month.
Hum not sure to my english is correct lol  :lost:

I would agree on leaving it as it is for a couple reasons, one of being the paperwork to keep track of the almost made it, and then to make a poll consisting of them.

Next if it is truly something that one would like to see happen they would resubmit that theme.

That was my thought also but the idea came up so I said I'll run with it to see the response.

:3flower; :tea:  This is a bit of a difficult topic for me as there are variables which as a member finds makes a big difference within my answering preference.

As a nut who just loves to put in ideas (good or bad who knows?) for what our monthly contest I would normally say no to just using previous ideas; however, as one who has and has had forums I know that what is done each month for this is a lot of work for the few who do run the forums. There are some times that these individuals just need a freaking break.

So I say yes this idea does have merit.  :java:  (but no I cannot ignore tea in my posts)

I think it should be only when we don't have enough topics to choose from and maybe every 3 months or so we drag it out of mothballs and just use it with the new ones.
When life gives you lemons, freeze them and throw them back at the bastards. :hawk:

I think yes, a lot of the time the one I voted for doesn't make it and I never see it again and it never comes up in another poll.
I'm don't feel like I can suggest it again when it was someone else's idea. Maybe that's just me.

I think we should include  the top almost  made it themes and still suggest  new  ones that  way  if a good theme that  was popular  but didn't get enough votes can be voted on again   so I voted  yes
