Summer of 1961
« on: November 07, 2015, 02:13:01 AM »
In the summer of 1961, my family move to a new home in La Puente, California we were the second owner of a home that was less than a year old.  It was a very large house, and was very modern for its time.  It  has a spacious backyard with a large patio , a built in barbeque made out of brick and an incinerator tuck away in a corner of the of the yard.  Inside was four bedrooms, a kitchen with a breakfast nook, a very large front room, a den, and a formal dining room, a large pantry and a wash room with an automatic washing machine.  For the early 1960 this was the American dream.

As we settle into the house, my mom, sister and father started noticing that strange things were going on in the house. Items from the kitchen or the other item in our bedroom where being misplaced or  found in other parts of the house.   I started getting blame for this, things I didn’t do.  As a month went on, the television would turn itself on and the tubes in the set would loudly hum. I was getting a bit  angry because I was being punished for things I didn't do at the time.   As the summer progressed the front door would unlock itself and slam itself open.  Another thing I was being blamed for and being punished for it.

Then it happen, the television went on and the locked door slammed itself open, my mother yell at me from the kitchen to stop it as she was standing at the stove. “ Stop what?”, I said sitting behind her at the nook.  Mon turn around and look at me and turned white as a ghost, as my sister was in the dining room playing. My mother went from room to room looking for someone while holding a large butcher knife, there was no one else in the house.

I was somewhat relieved that the truth was revealed, that I was not doing all the things that were going on in the house.

As fall approached and the strange happenings continued,  a neighbor told us that the previous owner of the house was shot and killed in the bathtub the first week he was there.  When we found this out, all of the strange activity stopped.  About two weeks later we moved out of the house.

This experince was stranger than turth, you can believe it or not.

Fantastic story is scary, I hope the phenomenon stopped happening in the house.
