Wow, we have winners (AG's Mission Not So Impossible Challenge)
« on: December 14, 2015, 02:35:09 AM »
That was the easiest challenge I have EVER had to judge. Although I am a bit disappointed in the amount of images, I totally understand and expected it due to the holidays.

Here are the winners and I will get your awards done in a few days. Thank you for playing and good luck in the main contests and the new challenge too....yes I will let you know more about it soon.

But you made an excellent job!
It's true it's a little hard at start to think on a particular way with a background. For my part, it's the same thing when i work with tubes made by other peoples - or by me :thud:

Are you ready for the next contest?

I usually make my backgrounds first either with actual props or with tubes I've made then render the figures over it in Poser, then take them in PShop and work them up. OR, you can render them against a black background and drop them onto the background in your art program. Not sure about that in D/S though.

In Photoshop if you have it, use Control > V keys (PASTE IN PLACE)  to Paste the characters layer onto the background and it will go exactly where you rendered it. They have to be the same render dimensions though!

The only problem with this is you don't get the characters shadows on the backgrounds...if you're big on shadows.

Often i use a paintbrush in Photoshop, in black. I do a shape, then i go in Filters => Attenuation => blur form
It's not perfect, but add a little shadow.

I do that too if it's a smallish shadow - or use the Burn brush to darken the areas.

You can also take the rendered characters and copy that layer and put it in the layer below the characters. Set the blending mode to Subtract or Multiply (you might have to Desaturate it first) then blur it like you want it and move it out from the figure to where you want it...BUT you can ONLY do that in certain instances.

I never try with different modes on the shape's shadow :thud:  But when we have perspective, it's a little more difficult to have a shadow in good way - at least for me.

Congratulations to the winners! Great job on all of them.

When I need a full shadow of a character, I duplicate the character. Turn it black and make it transparent to the point where the color matches the other shadows on the background. Then I distort it to make it fall the same way the other shadows are going. This works pretty well for me.
