The Basics: Low Poly Tree-Part One
« on: March 19, 2016, 04:45:27 AM »
This is the first part of 3 part in modelling a tree.  The modelling program is in hexagon but can be applied in any modelling program.   This first part is modeling the trunk and a branch.  The next part is a PhotoShop tutorial in creating a leaf from a picture and making ready to create a canopy for the tree.  Ending with creating the canopy and attaching to tree.

The trunk and branches of a tree should be a low poly construction.  The reason why is that the canopy of leave take a great amount of polygons create and makes the rendering time increase and uses a great amount of memory.

In Hexagon one of the main things to remember  to have organic shape is that in the properties box the geometry must be relative to transfer over to render engines in program like poser and daz studio.  So remember to select relative and validate and apply.

Please give me some time to get to part two.  I have allot of paperwork to do to get other things done for my retirement.  It took over 6 months to get my first check from my pension and now to work on social security.
