I don't think that light that's hitting them has the Shadows turned on or it's not turned or tilted to where it's hitting them right to cast the shadow for the illusion of them being on the ground.

Remember, it's all illusions!

Maybe my perspective is off too but the fires in the valley are meant to be too far away to be casting light on the characters

If you look at it from the Top Camera can you see where the lights are and render that, then mark about where each of the lights is? And which light it is? That might help.

You 'can' use the image in the IBL but I know the ones I'm thinking of the image is 300 x 300 square. If you were to square that one, I'd use the right hand side of it which is lighter. The tree is the only bright thing on the left side of the image because it's catching the light fairly well.

Try something along these lines with your lights:


Light 1: Infinite - non-IBL
XRot = -70
Y Rot = +20
Z Rot = -23
Intensity 100%
Scale 55%
Turned temporarily to a Spot it's about X = +35, Y = +60, Z= +22
Turn back to Infinite



Light 2: Spot
XRot = -222
Y Rot = +122
Z Rot = -201
Intensity 100%
Scale 142%
It's about: X = +27, Y = +25, Z= +11



Light 3: Spot
XRot = -232
Y Rot = -118
Z Rot = +39
Intensity 48%
Scale 100%
It's about: X = +20, Y = -3, Z= +34

I have finally got some thing I am happy with, by the time I do a bit of post work on it it will be sweet.
Thanks for all the tips Rayvn, they helped a lot in fine tuning where the issues were.

Main light ended up at some thing like
X -45
Y 300
Z 563

Sure i couldn't be a good help. When lights aren't like i wish, often i made several different renders, then play with layers and gum in photoshop.

What is missing in Poser (or i haven't see the option?) is to be in place of light. Even in distorsion of the scene. At least we can see the angle of lights.

Wow, really up there and out there huh?

I don't know how much help I was because I was kind of flying by the seat of my britches there without being able to see everything myself. But it helped then I'm happy and fantastic!

Do you ever use the Top Camera, Aelin? It's very helpful to see from above where the lights are. You have to select the one you want to see for the red outline of it to show. Or....I think there is an option to 'Show in Preview' that you can check in the Properties/Parameters thing.

In Poser, not really. I use often main, face and auxilliary cameras. Because i do more characters, then include them in a scene via Photoshop. So i use mainly few lights, and very simple.

I look quickly in Properties/Parameters and i see nothing like red lines. It is in lights of camera?

I was thinking of "View in Open GL" and "Visible" but that doesn't make them 'visible' from above. My error there......

Anyway - while this is just a very 'close' encounter of lights, this is what I'm speaking of. The Light 1 is the white one and the Light 2 is the red lined one. I have put my cursor near them to make them display like this....
