Creating Picture for Halloween
« on: September 01, 2016, 01:24:55 AM »
Right now I am working on the pose for the Daz character called Nybras.  I will use Cista Sanctorium from DAZ 3d for the set. I am planning to do away with the uber lights because of the setbacks they create and the time it takes to render it and create my own light set for the 3Delight render engine.

Now to get the kinks out of his tail and to the next step of placing in the set.

Also I am thinking of working with ambient to get a glow effect on Nybras.

Step II

Now that I have gotten the kinks out to the tale I have loaded the set in and placed Nybras in too.  I have modified his pose alittle more and will probably modify the pose more depending on the lighting and how the shadow will fall.

I will be using primarily blue lighting for a physiological effect.  Something that is scary usually has blue lighting because it is a cold color.

I place Nybras in the center of vault and columns to frame him and bring the viewer's eye towards the main subject. Nybras tail has been posed to help bring the viewer's eye back to the main subject so that a circular motion of the eye is achieved when looking at the picture. I think I need to work on this tail some more.

Step III

Lighting has been started. But don't like the texture on the set for me they are too light and digital, must be for uber environment.  I am thinking of a darker background to pop up the main image.  I will probably use shaders to speed up the process instead of making texture maps.

Experimenting with Ambient settings the eyes are really define.  Before you could not see them.  Ambient is not a real glow but bring up lighted image.
You can see what ambient looks like before the render in the picture below.

Step IV

Changed texture for shader on columns discovered I had another 40 light on set for uber lighting, eliminated that switched ceiling texture with another ceiling texture that came with set.

Reduce the ambient on Nybras body and head about 20% added ambient to floor to match the light casted on floor.

Now it is starting to get where it is supposed to be.

Right now I see that the shadow on ground should be darker.

Will stop for a while and to look at see if I want to make anymore change before taking it to PhotoShop.

Step VI

Tweak the scene some more I believe it is ready for PhotoShop.

Added dark blue to the wall then got a 2.5 d flame on a flat plane then added a linear point light near the wall.

Adjusted lights so that shadows fall in basically in the same direction.

Finished Picture.

Adjusted exposure, pushup saturation, lighten face, and other parts of body using curves.   Painted in pupil for eyes and white for reflection.  Added shadow on teeth.
