Melody and Micah on Vacation
« on: September 17, 2016, 09:35:00 AM »
First Test Render.  Using Iray environment.  Some of the things that need to be done:  Work on tweaking lights so that shadow will not fall on shoulder of Melody and to eliminate shadow on her right shin.  Then rotate the IBL sphere to match background to foreground so that lights and shadows match throughout the picture. Fix Melody's blouse. Work on shader for Melody's shorts.  For Micah make a few adjustments on left hand, thumb and little finger. Eliminate column in background on the edge of picture.

Hmmm, looking at the pic and following your comments all I can say is yes there are a few things to do, granted I see naught beyond what you have listed so far so methinks you are off to a good start

Look forward to part two

Step Two

Made some changes because I consider that the picture can be cropped at least in 5 place to give 5 different yields from one work.  So I move the background prop further back in the picture plane. Then move the camera back so you have a master shot of the picture plane.  Since the ground was dark between the main characters and the building the sky was changed to either reflect morning or late afternoon.  All the other changes have been applied from the previous post.

Looking at it now, the left hand on Micah it does not look comfortable at a 90 degree angle and the backlighting or rim light is not working well in the picture so this these are some thing to work on for now.

Agree on the hand placement looks like a careful twist of either the collar or shoulder will relieve the stress on the hand joint.

Most likely you already knew that ... like where you are going with the rest of the image.

Still don't like the hand just don't look natural.  These thing bake for 6 hours at a time. Had my sister over and did other things and did not look at this until after it rendered.  Just started out another render at 9 o'clock my time which is 2 hour after Central Standard Time.  Should be done around 4 o'clock my time or 6 o'clock central time in morning will post some time tommorrow.  I think the next one will work.

If it works then postwork in PhotoShop.

What about moving the collar or shoulder on the front to back parameter?

Computer locked up.  Thankfully, I saved the scene file before rendering.  Woke up at 12 this afternoon should have the file up this evening.

This one I can work with.

Next I will put it in PhotoShop to finish it.

Will probably start working on it on Wednesday because I have a doctor's appointment at the VA and the drive one way is over an hour to get there.
Hopefully I won't be sleep driving on the way.
