Secret Tale Book -- Aelin
« on: January 04, 2017, 07:00:45 AM »
Because all stories have their secrets...
Imagine what could be stories contained in this book, no matter its version!

Book was tested in Poser 11, and in Daz Studio 3 and 4.
It was tested in a Windows environment (W8.1); not tested in a Mac environment.

In DS, you need to sort manually Glossiness and Displacement settings.
But at the end, for a reason or another, I find renders are better in Daz Studio than in Poser.

Have fun!

Thanks! I hope to do an opened book one day, but before, i must continue to learn in Wings3d.

Open books are very, very tricky to do. I've seen a lot of them that even though you uncheck "Smooth Polygons" in Book Properties you still will get the warping pages when you render.

I have no idea if that happens in DAZ or not. That whole "Smooth Polygons" thing seems to be different between the two Programs.

But there are those who do it successfully, so I guess looking at their code and seeing how they managed it (the differences) might provide a clue. ?? I haven't ever really looked at any of them to compare. I know you have to make a morph for the covers - back and front, if you want it open and closed both. As to the middle part.... make both sides as children of the Cover Front or Cover Back?? Then make them children of the Spine.

That sounds weird - Children of the Spine! :tearlaugh: Just trying to logic it out here. But still best to look at those who know how and how they did it.

:psycho: Yeah, it's a little weird like this.

Today, i noticed finally that "smooth polygons" are created in Daz when we do a .pp2 there :thud: That is surprising like we haven't use of Smooth polygons. Perhaps it's the reason for why many packs working in Poser have the checked box?

Perhaps then you should do the .pp2 in Poser and then uncheck it and save it again or go in the file and look for the code to change...since DAZ automatically creates it anyway. That IS weird.

Yes, possibly THAT is the exact reason it happens because I know some vendors still use Hexagon but have modified it to make it better for what they do. Then again, they likely have an additional UV texture mapper as well, other than that horrid thing in there to use. Or they do it in Photoshop from the mesh parts. I'm sure everyone that does it has their own methods and tools.
