The man with the intellectual depth of a coat of paint, you mean?

I dunno, I'd prefer watching paint.

It is terribly freaky with it is a shared experience. No doubt.

Have you ever just been sitting there or walked outside and smelled a smell that there is absolutely no way you should be smelling? I know several people that's happened to, including myself. Once in particular - and there was absolutely no one else around - I walked outside and smelled camphor of all things. It has a very unmistakable smell. There's nothing else like it. Then other times I've smelled roses and vanilla just sitting in my chair at the computer. No roses around or anything that smelled like them and nothing vanilla in the house. Danged if I know....?

Off hand no, but another friend of mine and I heard wind chimes circling all around us, THAT was weird! I've seen trees whipping about when there was no wind, and gone down paths and roads that weren't there when I turned around. I'm not even gonna venture any guesses.

So Taurus' hind leg transformed into a Little Bear, spinning on its axis, which is Polaris!

This is what happens when you get stoned on neolithic mushrooms in the desert late at night.

Supposedly...although in one book of constellations I have (by I think it's Henry Olcott) there was an ancient constellation known as "The Minotaur" that was in the circumpolar stars. However he doesn't seem to know quite where it was except in that general area. There were several mega-constellations that were composed of several constellations like Argo. I once upon a time traced out one that was the goddess Isis in her kneeling position with her wings outspread - one you see often on Egyptian temple walls. It appears that Cassiopeia was her 'stepped crown'. It's possible The Minotaur might have been one of those. As I'm sure you know, that area of the sky apparently had some major 'blowouts' as there are a lot of nebulae up there and the Dark Rift.

What's even more interesting is one of the cave paintings at Lascaux France from about 14000 BCE shows an aurochs that has been disemboweled by a spear apparently, right across his back hind-quarters on the left back haunch. There is a 'bird on a stick' beside it and what appears to be a dead or wounded man whose shape is much like that of Cepheus. The bird on a stick is possibly Cygnus and perhaps the aurochs was this 'Minotaur' figure that was one of these mega constellations. I don't know but it begs a lot of questions.

:tearlaugh: Oh there were other things too besides the mushrooms, like the Murk-Walkers who basically tore up naturally growing cannabis plants and made a huge bonfire out of them and circumnambulated around the bonfires inhaling the smoke. Haoma, Soma and other things. If I were to tell you how the shamans made amanita muscaria safe to drink you'd probably gag. I'll just say it was 'distilled' through reindeer.

Yeah, they're doing that with cat-ass coffee now, but I suspect it's not the same as camel-crap hashish.

Some of those supernova and hypernova explosions would have lit the night sky up dramatically. Those people would run for cover when a comet showed up, I can imagine what they'd think when their gods head explodes.

Which is part of the basis for the story I'm working on, 'cept the Gods were real, and something did make their heads explode.

I know several people, including me who swear they've seen shadow people, or shadow-things. In some cases it's clearly night terrors...basically sleep paralysis, but other cases, (like mine) we were awake, and in two cases, all together, and saw the same thing. I have no idea what was going on there, but it was freaky. And I've also gone 'hmmmm' after reading up on string theory and parallel universes. Maybe other things exist here in the same basic space, just slightly out of tune with us. Who knows.

My friend from Sao Paolo was talking, "You know when  you stop to pick up hitchhikers at night and there's no one there?"

Well, you have the wrong by-product there for one and that is not how hash is made :tearlaugh:

Considering they built something like Gobekli Tepe and the one as yet unexcavated to the north of it to monitor that part of the sky I'd say yes, it definitely blew their minds. It probably would a lot of people today as well and there'd be a whole lot of Chicken Littles running around.

Never made a practice of that particular thing, but that would be freaky.

I'll take shadow masses over that any day thanks. At least I can rationalize that.
