Video Tutorials for PD Howler and PD Artist
« on: May 20, 2017, 04:30:46 PM »
Hi everybody. This thread is going to be used to provide you with access to YouTube Video tutorials about PD Howler and PD Artist. To clarify what the different versions are; PD Howler is the most complete version of the Project Dogwaffle software, while PD Artist is a less capable version. The Artist version can be used to do most of the possible work in the software but it lacks the use of certain tools that can be used in PD Howler; the main ones being those used to do animations. There are a couple of versions of Project Dogwaffle that are free to download, which are actually trial versions, which have even less tools available than the paid versions; however, even those versions are really great. Also the free versions do not have a time limit on how long you can use them, as of this writing. In other words you get to keep using the free versions indefinitely so that you can thoroughly explore what is available in them. I recommend getting the latest free version if you should decide to go that route. Just understand that if you want the most up to date and fully capable version, you should buy the latest build of PD Howler. I am running PD Howler 10 now, which has all the capabilities Of PD Artist 10, plus the animation tools and certain other tools that Artist cannot use.

Now for the first video tutorial i am posting one that I requested after first getting PD Artist 9. It is about the Curve Tool. To explain, my first version of Project Dogwaffle was the free version 1.2. The curve tool in that one was a simple one to use, and I had no trouble figuring out how to use it. It came in handy for me, as I was able to use it in my repairs of photos that had been damaged in one or another way. It actually made money for me along those lines. Later I got the free version of PD Artist 8.2. In that version the curve tool was changed in a way that made its use less easy to figure out on my own. Try as I did, I could find no information concerning this. Then about a year and a half ago I won PD Artist 9, in an art contest here at The Fantasies Attic, and Philip of TheBest3D.com was gracious enough to direct me to the YouTube channel where tutorial and introductory videos could be found. Well this problem I had with not being able to figure out how to use the new version of the Curve Tool came to mind, and so I wrote a comment there to request a tutorial telling how to use it. In less than a day he had made the tutorial, which helped me immensely. Now well over a year later, I have PD Howler 10, which is actually the version he used to make that video. All the tricks he shows in this video are possible in PD Artist 9, and perhaps on back to even earlier versions. So if you are a user of PD Artist or Howler 8, 9, or 10, and you do not understand the Curve Tool, this video is for you!

You're quite welcome. I figure the software with the funny name needs more love, because it really is an awesome program.

If you know of any video tutorials about PD Artist or Howler, feel free to share in  this thread. That is an invitation to all users of the software. Let's get this software some well deserved love.
