July, 2017 CHALLENGE OF THE MONTH~Closed
« on: July 01, 2017, 08:03:05 AM »

This month, I don't want stories. Nope.

I want to see EXPRESSIONS that tell the whole story in a look, a gesture, a smile. Your title says it all. Pick yourself a title and then make it happen. Is your character in love, enraged, in awe, frustrated, daydreaming, sad, curious...? Do they have an idea? Have they just 'seen' something in an unusual way or something unusual? It doesn't have to be a big story. It can be just one of those brief moments in time. Capture it.

THE RULES:

You may use any character that is capable of assuming expressions.

No PRE-MADE or PRE-SET Expressions.

You MAY use Morphs ++ Expressions ONLY IN COMBINATION
with other Basic and Head dials for expressions.
You may NOT use Morphs ++ expressions ONLY.

The EXPRESSIONS HAVE TO BE YOURS.

That's the rules this time.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Make it so. Put some personality in your characters with EXPRESSIONS!

"Every Picture Tells a Story" is your COTM challenge for July. As always, enter as many times as you like until Sunday, July 30th, 2017.

Yeah, TL. Put some of that stuff you've got collecting dust to work! We KNOW you can do it. You've done it before. I know. I saw.... All you have to do is go back far enough in the Gallery.

Sounds like a great challenge, and it's one that is right up my alley. I assume portraits showing the expressions would be acceptable. My obsession with storytelling will have to be curbed for this one, I suppose!

So J, are you gonna give this one a try? With the stories you tell about your job, and the classes you teach, I'd expect that you have a lot of expressions you could show. I'd love to see them!
DAZ Studio, Bryce, Poser, Wings 3D, Howler, Blender, PSP, Hexagon, MSO PowerPoint & Word, just a few of the programs I use.

Hadn't really given it much thought but you did raise an interesting point so we mayhap we shall drop one or two in

Did you look at the example at the top? That's a portrait. I don't care if you do a portrait or an action scene - in fact a little action to go with the expression would be alright but not necessary. You know...like suddenly you trip and fall and you're going down and you're going "Ohhhhhhhh, :soapy:!!!!" or "Aiyyyyy, carumba!" or some such.

I just want to see some expressions and not staring off into space blankly!
