Is it cool to mention Dogwaffle here?
« on: October 11, 2017, 10:26:58 PM »
Maybe I looked in wrong places, but this should be a good place for it, no?

Here are some recent tutorials and assets you can use with Dogwaffle but some also with other tools. The elevation maps can easily be used in many other programs. For example, Photoshop can reconstruct a similar 3D landscape.

I know, I know, it just looks like a cup of coffee with frothed milk. Which it is. But then this happens:

Perfect place for these

we've added the start of a few tutorials. Currently rendering some animations - to be accompanied by music from Dj d'Arttagnan's Winds of Mars

www.thebest3d.com/landscapes/tutorials > look for Wind(ow)s to Mars - it includes a free heightmap and its accompanying texturemap in a single file in Dogwaffle's .lyr (layered) format. The greyscale heightmap is in the Main image buffer, the color texturemap is in the Swap image. One ring, er, file, to rule them all.

You can use these .lyr files in PD Artist, PD Howler, even in PD Particles (just for main and Swap in that case, no extra layers or 3D reconstruction tools in that lite edition).
