Nope still no joy

Damn.....

So:  1) It works out of your place and boots fine
       2) it just spins at your place....(Do the monitor on lights come on at all?)
       3) All updates were made and unit tested before bringing it back to your place
       4) Fans run

What am I missing?  I can do some searches to see if others have run into this with homemade units

Monitors power up just fine and even swapped them to the default system and they do work as intended.

So like my tech is theorizing, it is possible there is an internal power issue, what why or how I don't know, but if this works at the office on Monday I am going to kill something ... just saying .... :ummm: maybe I should have  drive to raise bail money just in case

The Screens work.
The power supply for the monitors worked at work so that works.
so it comes back to the house power  or something between the computer and the wall.

straight wire to wall would be the quickest to tell you if it is the between.

Straight wired the system to multiple outlets in the house as in four different places and na-da not a damn thing ....  :shiv3:

As you can guess we are not liking my options.

Got in on Monday and with the more savvy then I guy, dug even deeper ... and it got even uglier

After exhaustive tests of unplug and test each and every component individually and in pairs when appropriate it is narrowed down to the most hated of all components to fail.

Motherboard

Did some reading just now and the procedures that were outlined and the "possible" symptoms match entirely to closely.

Well take it back to work plug it in and if it works it really is house power  if not then the motherboard really is the problem. o.O You got it from newegg I think so it should be under warranty still less than a year?

Did take it in to work and it did the same thing there so for once it is not my house power but truly something with the computer.

Did look the invoice up and bought it in March of 2016 so the Newegg warranty is out but the manufacture warranty back then was for three years so crossing fingers on that, reason being is that they (ASRock) only offer a one year.

The even more sad part is that motherboard is no longer offered so expecting the worst hoping for the best ...

Huga, huga

ASRock is honoring the warranty and has issued an RMA for the return and replacement of said motherboard at no cost.

.. so there we go, doesn't matter if one builds a computer on their own or buys one built by a vendor, ethical companies honor the warranties on their products.

And yes, we have had that conversation with other people, however it doesn't matter you still have to wait on someone to issue the RMA and honor the warranty.

Different strokes for different folks

No one way is better then the other as both would have to wait for a warranty to be honored so ........

I get my satisfaction from being involved in the assembling of ...

The real squeezing of the body parts (wallet) was the postage to send it ... I sort of went above and beyond in making certain it would not suffer any damage (hopefully)

... bottom line sent Priority mail with insurance and tracking (free)

Total postage  $41.95
