But, nooooooooooooooooo now we have to make another trip out there for about an hours worth of work :rat-atat:

I guess on the plus side though, it does get me out of the shop for several hours, and away from all of that scintillating intelligence being displayed

Ever thought of trying with some minor brain surgery? I'm thinking of implanting a prosthesis, a Z80 would probably do   :icu:

Damn it was wonderful, was out of the shop for almost 6 hours. Had a couple of oops while there, tis why it took so long, but they were minor ones like needed to make an additional three cables. :o_go_on: I make them things in my sleep and way to damn fast if truth be told. Did have an interesting "fail" on one of those specialty connection cables, even though it is a pass through connector it did something crazy. All though the wires landed on the right pins, the back side of those wires got bunched up under two other pins, so in other words we had a short and that was why we couldn't get it to key up. Once we figured it out and fixed it all was working properly once more.

Can't say I have had that occur before :thud:

Alas, I do! The cable list of the contraption we completed a couple of years ago is 9 pages long, and a 10th page lists up 48 different types of connectors.
Now guess who was volunteered to check them...

Indeed Motorola has the same desire to complicate things with the number of and different pin outs for every single frelling device......

Drives me up the wall and on occasions that is a very short trip

Here was my fun today, at long last I got ye ole manager to let me get rid of all the excess, dead and can no longer get connectors for cable in the shop.

At last :heeheehee: I am beside myself with ... well some sort of feeling not sure what but it is so nice to finally get rid of this nonsense

The bonus part is that even though it is mostly coax and grade two low voltage.

We still got paid over $800 for all that was recycled today ... well technically the check was made out to Motorola not our shop so no idea if any of that will make it back to us, but still shelf space cleared up so I can consolidate and get rubbish up off the floor and more.

Yes, little things amuse little minds

I used to know a company that just made specialty cables  we would use them when a client's bought stuff not to code, price their argument is what we are told by the sales guy. so we had that company built "special" cables and billed them for it. One had one usb integrated hub just for all the other ends to work! o.O

Well, we not only rearranged things to where like things are in the same area, but we got all the cable that I did choose to save is all in one spot as well, took some doing and creative packing to get all of it to "fit" but we did and we managed to free up floor space.

Then we got even more rambunctious as there were several palettes with material from not only a completed job but three other jobs where someone was not on top of things in regards to getting unusable product returned back to the vendor.

Yes, we are a frelling warehouse of junk that I can not sell or use on any projects. :sigh:

The bad news or business as usual news is that yours truly was the only one in the shop doing all the work, yep business as usual ....
