Help with render
« on: December 30, 2017, 11:40:57 PM »
So I downloaded the Daz program to my new laptop and installed everything from scratch(runtime).....Manage to whip something quick, oh and it runs so much faster on new laptop too, yay! But I have a problem, I know there is a way to get rid of it but can't seem to remember how...
see image below? How do I get rid of those black arrows? Thanks for any help. this was just a quick render to see how DS works with laptop...

The black arrows are handles (sometimes they're called helpers) that are attached to the dress to set it according to the pose used.
Sometimes, you can find in the 'Materials' directory or 'Pose' directory a command 'Handles Off' to make them not visible.
If there's not such a command, you must go in the 'Surface' Tab. Here, you should find a parameter 'Handles' or 'Helpers'. You have to select it and put the Opacity at 0.0%.

In Poser it is found in two places one is the properties tab of the item untick the "visible" box.

Or in the Hierarchy window scroll to the item in question and look for the body parts in question and deselect the "eye" icon to make it invisible

Can't help in DAZ but maybe either of those locations are available in DAZ

These options are also available in DAZ for Poser stuff.
For DAZ stuff, I don't recall exactly, because it's been awhile since I don't use DAZ characters, but at first sight, I'd say they're also available for DAZ stuff.

I said nothing until now because Neimrok is right concerning these possibilities.
Yet J, you remembered me the "visible" possibilities too  . I don't use DS4 from weeks now, but like in DS3, you have a tab named "parameters" with inside "misc". Normally "Visible" and "Visible in render" have the on option; click on the both, and you have now off. It's all to do.
Maybe you'll have to turn off "cast shadows" too, but until now, I never had to do that.

Ok I found the handles for the skirts and their opacity are set to 0, I tried everything and it's not working....just to weird, since I used this outfit before....

:odd: :padded:
There's still maybe an option.
In the Viewport, you can put the mouse cursor on the handle to see its name.
Then, you can find it in the scene Tab as element of the dress. You have to select it and click on the eye to make it not visible.
If it doesn't work, I really don't know what else to do. :thud:

Have you tried to turn off with the "visibility" options?

But I must say it's weird indeed that handles are always visible when they are to 0%. Are you sure you haven't more handles that you think in the scene?
I see you have a dress. But also an overskrit? Can't be handles for hair?

Aelin I thought the same thing, so I rendered it with each item at a time, and the only handles are the 2 skirts..... One has two handles, other just one....
Neimrok, the arrows are showing only in the render itself, I don't see them on the view port....going to double check

Here is a screen shot of one of the skirts...as you can see, I highlighted the handles on the 'scenes' bar, but nothing on the view port(screen)... same thing for other skirt, nothing on the screen, it shows it only when rendered.

figured it out!!! So opacity was on zero, I put it up to 100 and it showed on view port(scene), so I was able to to click it and find out what the heck it was, hahahaha
