@ Ray - Thanks for that link to all the cave paintings, wow!

Sure! Enjoy it because there's a LOT in there and it's really quite eye opening.

I believe Robin taught at Naropa along with other places like Karmê Chöling.   He was one of Chögyam Trungpa's students.  The translation on which he worked for so long with the Nalanda Translation group did finally get published.

I do remember quite a few stories about how thangkas are fashioned.  I liked his stories of the humanity of the monks better, however.

Among others in my 'Eastern Mysticism' books, I have the book "Shambala: the Sacred Path of the Warrior" by Chögyam Trungpa. There is much wisdom in it. I actually bought it at the bookstore where the thangkas were sold. I know he was the one who founded Naropa.

That's quite impressive - your friend working on that translation. I have heard of Gesar of Ling but I don't remember reading any of those stories off hand.

Hello Folks...I'm back.  Lost power due to 70-80 MPH winds.  Had a spectacular Lightning show...and everyone who was bowling in the clouds got a strike by the sounds of it.

But being Friday the 13th is not always bad.

The picture below is a tree my neighbor and I share...It's right between both of our places....  The winds took a branch down and the main part of the limb missed her car by 3"....She had some scratches due to branches....but no major damage to the car.

And what's more amazing...her GrandDaughter normally doesn't work Friday night but she had to tonight....and she parks her car right next to her GrandMothers car....right where the main limbs fell.

My birdhouse and chimes survived also.....

Anyway, you can see the winds blew the gutter splashblock to the left...because it was floating....

It's still rumbling out so I am signing off for the night.  No sense pressing my luck since more storms are coming our way....

Good grief! That's a lot of 'limb' there! Glad everything is okay more or less.

Yes, stay safe there TL!

Your neighbor is lucky for having worked last night. She can tell now Friday 13th is a lucky day for her.
Poor tree anyway.
Take care, like I don't know what are clouds on the map and if they reach or will reach you.

Good morning guys!

Good Morning,

Sun is shining out here so far.  No clouds but the humidity is a 51 percent and the high for today will be 101 degrees F.  It will be a hot and sticky day.  Right now it is 83 degrees F.  Looks like the highs will be climbing next week until Monday of the following week when it be around 112 degrees F.  Hope it won't be humid then.

I hope TL fared OK through the night.

Well we should know soon that the dust storm will hit the Gulf of Mexico.
