Happy Birthday, Agent and Chiron.   :bday4: :bday3: :letsparty:

Chiron, I have a first project to propose for your Raspberry Pi:

Or if you'd rather open up your home to any random person on the Internet:

Do you know that Raspbian comes with Mathematica?

Thanks Sir Knight!

Well, my hope was actually to retrieve the thrill of programming in machine-code or in Assembler without having to come to terms with the vagaries of Windows first... but even only being granted access to the I/O without being squeezed through virtual drivers, real drivers, imaginary drivers, complex drivers, truck drivers and other perverse figments of M$ imagination will be great :tearlaugh:

As for the robotic bartender, I'm not sure I'm ready to swallow a concoction the barman wouldn't or couldn't drink himself... :funny:

The GCC compiler collection has an assembler.

The ARM folks have an assembler reference manual

https://developer.arm.com/docs/ddi0487/latest/arm-architecture-reference-manual-armv8-for-armv8-a-architecture-profilehttp://

but you'll have to sing the key of Gnu.  The specifics of the I/O (memory mapped like almost all modern machines) is tied up with the Broadcom BCM2837 chip specification, some of which is proprietary, althought I've never had a problem with anything that I've attempted.  If you don't want to use Linux, there are more obscure OSes but I think this post is geeky enough.  We can switch to PM's if Linux is not to your taste.

And, to that last now slightly obscured statement

:ty: Sir Knight, you gave me a most appreciated birthday present!  :ty:

Had to chop the final "http://" off your first link but then I think I landed in the right place - a huge .pfd it will take me several weeks to read through and absorb but should provide me with most of the answers I'm seeking
The only thing I have against Linux is that I know precious little about it (yet), but that shouldn't be irreparable... :book:
That's anyway something I'm prepared to do once Win7 gets buried in the elephant graveyard together with its brethren to clear the field for the usurper Win10  - so why not now?

Since I suspect I'll have to pester you with a few (thousand :winks:) questions in a near future, do you think there's some obscure geeky corner in the Attic where the other patrons won't set Kianna on us for talking computnik?

That guy Wolfram intrigues me quite a lot. He must be a very remarkable man, let's see now if Aunt Wiki has something more to tell me about him.
Meanwhile I'm setting an old rusty computer to download Mathematica and NOOBS with Raspbian bypassing the VPN (else it would take hours), then in a day or two my brand new Raspberry should knock at my door and the avalanche will start :tearlaugh:

We DO have a Programs section in the Attic. Perhaps some kind someone would make you a section in there where you could post.

What would you like to call it? It must have a name and as far as I know, either Chiron or Sir Knight would know best what to call it.

That kind someone would certainly deserve a bottle of good whisky!
As for the name, why not "Blowing Raspberries"? :funny:

Sir Knight?

We even have a logo!  (Thanks, sidherose.)

Sounds good to me, Chiron.

I don't know how I got that extra httpxxx on that URL.  Probably late night or early morning stupids.   :ny-fathertime:
