I know this is a very old thread but it should be revived due to the amount of people who use Hexagon. I would love to see if anyone has found a way to get quality UV Maps out of Hexagon.

What I see so far is that it's very basic UV Mapping in Hexagon at best.

That is to say there are a few tutorials for it but the way Hexagon squishes the maps is awful.

I can get it to map with basic Planer, Box, etc...etc....just can't get it to pelt out a good smooth map.

I wrote to the friend mentioned elsewhere and will let you know what he says. I suspect he or his wife do the UV mapping in something else, but I'll see what he says.

I found a fella that claims it can pelt out smooth maps so I'm glancing through it now to see what I was missing.

Thanks Rad! I grabbed the link for later viewing.

I watched this one before and I guess I missed some things on it. I'm looking at something else now that seems a little more 'user friendly'.

Here is a really good tutorial about UV Mapping in Hexagon that is easy to understand and takes you through it step by step.

Well, from what I found out by ripping into it and some hardcore google-fu, turns out that Hexagon "is" able to produce excellent uv maps. It's just the lack of good documentation that makes it difficult for the average user to understand it.
