Good Afternoon......

Like Anita I'm running XP  but your RUN file should be in the same place that Anita described above.

I ran out of time this morning.  I got to looking for an easy way to help you and got to deep into the files LOL....

Let me do some more digging if you wish....  :java:

Well, what she said to do is just what all the sites said to do....and I have found over at Daz a few other posts with the same issue with older stuff on newer pc's.

If you ever get bored, and want to dig, feel free...however, I have to learn a new program anyway, should it be that one or a different one. Anita sent me a link already, lol. The program was only a couple bucks, I bought it a long time ago, and never I have used it, and there are other alternatives to do what that program does, so it's no big deal.

I wish sometimes I had just stayed with my XP, too, lol....but over all I like Windows 7

But I do have another pending question....Ashley's laptop runs  Windows 7, too, and she has 108 updates sitting there and they just sit..."preparing to install...." and never do....any ideas on that one?

I have Windows 7 now at work and it's tough bouncing from one format to another LOL....

I guess that means when I start taking my vacation days I'll have to hook up my New computer...that I got in June   :java:

I love this computer I have now because it's easy to fix...and believe me...when I thought it was dying...I did everything I could to keep it alive....

And thought it may have beaten me....but nope....I won but ended up with another toy that was not needed  ***Sigh***

And here I am still running XP Pro 64 bit and hoping that I never have to try to get my existing programs to play nice with a new OS

Well, other than switching a few to run as if they were in XP, I haven't had any real issues....until this one, lol.
But some things about Windows 7 are really cool...but it did take some getting used to, lol.

I agree with LL....some very cool features that come in handy...especially at work.

I can SEE what my tabs are for instead of guessing what they are for.  You glide over them and a thumbnail of what you have in that tab shows up.....

The only problem I have at work is downloading PDF files....

Thus far Windows 7 and Adobe aren't playing nice together...and it's everyone...not just me....

But I found a cure.....

It's not really Window 7 causing the problem....it's that damn IE that is.....so against company policy...I downloaded and am now using Firefox  LOL....

Don't say a word "J"......  :java:

ok here is what you need:
http://www.ocxdump.com/download-ocx-files_new.php/ocxfiles/M/MSCOMCTL.OCX/6.01.9782/download.html

That's the direct download for your missing file.   put it into the system32 folder in the windows folder & then follow anita's instructions on how to register it.  That should help with some of the issues.  The next thing you will need to do is RIGHT click on your icon for the application & select Run as administrator.  That should fix your issue in windows7.  If not, then you are basically on your own.  I have Injection pose builder which works fine in Win7.

O & don't use IE in Win7 ... it's a bitch.  Use firefox, chrome or opera or any other browser.

Hi MC!!!  :ello: :peek: :ello:

Still get the error. See attached

Yes, I had no issue installing and starting Injection Pose Builder. Runs like a charm....odd, huh?

But that's OK... :o_go_on: ... There's a million programs out there to try.

ok once you put the file into the C:\WINDOWS\system32  folder, you went to the start button & typed in CMD in the run box and then typed "REGSVR32 MSCOMCTL.OCX" (No quotes) in the box to register this control.

After that then went to the icon & did as I said.

There is another way to make it compatible.  Right click on the icon again & instead of selecting run as administrator... go to PROPERTIES at the bottom of the list.  Next go to the Compatibility Tab & check where it says RUN this program in compatibility mode for:  & pull down to windowsXP service pack3 & set the Privilege level to run this program as an administrator.  I can not promise that the issue will disappear but this is the only way I can tell you most of the issues go bye bye.

I hope this helps.  If this doesn't work then the program is just not compatible with anything in win7.

I'm guessing whomever is using it on Win 7 has something that makes it work...I'm not getting it...

did you try not adding the missing file?  or perhaps adding it just to the system folder in the windows folder & then do the registration?  These are the only other replies I can give.  Then you will be on your own completely.  You can do a search on how to make it work using dogpile.com (better search engine).

Yes, what you and Anita have suggested to do is exactly what every search I have done has said to do. For some people it worked...some other it didn't.

I think it's just one of those things...but I can work it out one way or another.

I really do appreciate all of everyone's help!!!!
