TTF is the font file.

If you keep that open then load Photoshop the font that's open can be seen in Photoshops font list and you can use it.
I never load many fonts in my systems font folder that's a resource hog if you have to many in there.

 :3flower;

NOw I did not know this of pc at all. I was wondering how to use them and not have to install them. I have a humongo fonts folder that I end up trimming but not enough.

In my mac I can make a fonts folder in users to install (in categories even) and they show up then can remove whenever I need too.

Now maybe I can keep the fontsw folder at the minimum of only the system fonts only.  Does anyone know/have a list to send me of the system specific fonts?

The bit about keeping the font open then you can see it in Photoshop....how do you 'keep it open'?

I do not like to install too many fonts, as someone else mentioned it makes your computer too slow.

So, I'd love to know what is meant by 'keeping it open'.  I have a font folder but have not installed any of them yet but I would really like to use them.

Updated, Aelin (10/30/14) [link ended]

Hi Nancy....there are actually a couple of free font organizer programs out there that will let you set up fonts of your choice no matter how many you download.  I use FONTFRENZY and it's fabulous.  I have a ton of fonts and if you remember....it wasn't I that downloaded them.

I was on one of my trips and I let Angie use my computer and she thought she'd do me a favor and download some free fonts for me.....

Notice the word SOME....well, it was a wee bit more then "SOME"  it was close to 2 gigs worth.....of yes...fonts....and I had to open my computer in the SAFE mode because it would open NO OTHER WAY....for HOURS......LOL...

So I found this program and now I've got all my free fonts...somewhat organized in shed #9.....LOL
