Sweetest Thing
|
"That's the sweetest thing anyone ever said to me," Glory blubbered and put her arms around him.
"I didn't come here to make you cry. Or take advantage of you." Djinn took Glory in his arms as a long mascara stained rivulet coursed down her cheek.
"I came here to take care of you and love you. Your whole family loves you, but they all have their own loves. I'm here for you. To love you and
do whatever you need me to do. So, before you start to change again into a raccoon girl," he flicked the tear away with his finger and smiled,
"stop crying and kiss me like you mean it. I made some coffee. You hungry?"
"Not right now, but coffee yes." Glory sniffed and smiled as she tried to wipe the rest of the muddy tear away with the back of her hand.
Her body shuddered as she tried to calm herself.
"You know, you weren't the only one that learned about someone else's problems. You didn't even want to talk about them, but you did to me.
I know what you missed out on and I'm here to give it to you along with all my heart and soul. Now go wash your face and we'll go downstairs
and have coffee and work on our house. We got nowhere else to go today."
Glory kissed him like she meant it...because she did.
"Now, just don't go telling everyone else how wonderful I am. You wouldn't want to ruin my bad reputation now, would you?" he laughed,
taking her hand and leading her to the bathroom. "I'll be downstairs, honey."
