Eve was sound asleep when her near-field communication link heard, "Why can I feel you?"
She opened her eyes to a 2-BLUE unit's glowing eyes, looking straight at her.
"Because I'm cyborg and have most of the same com units that you do," Eve responded over the same link so as not to wake her barracks mates.
She sat up and sent "Local lights" to the room's AI.
