Arrival
|
The ship drifted slowly down and settled into the ocean with hardly a slash. 6-BLUE-2 shut down the engines. There was a slight hiss from the heat of the engines now immersed in sea water and a pinging of rapidly cooling metal.
Eve spent most of the trip dozing as her sleep had been interrupted by the aircraft and strike.
"Eve," 6-BLUE-2 said as the ship moved into a gently rocking bay, "We're at the survey stream entrance."
It was late afternoon on this the much less terraformed side. Eve roused, looking around.
She startled and said, "Cockpit open" as there was a completely unexpected craft on the shore.
